Role overview:

In this role you will contribute to our success by playing a leading role in our product design and development process; everything from concept development, to sourcing development partners, testing, documentation and set up for commercial production.


You will work with a variety of products, including 3D biomass cameras, electric stunning systems, acoustic and electric predator deterrents, sea lice removal systems. All designed to improve both operational efficiency and animal welfare standards.


The ideal candidate will have a broad skillset including technical CAD drawing, product development, and experience of mechanical and electrical engineering.


Experience of the aquaculture, agriculture, marine or offshore industries would be beneficial but is not essential.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Product R&D from conceptual stages through to commercial production.
  • 3D CAD drawings for R&D and to support sales proposals
  • Researching design solutions and testing feasibility
  • Production and maintenance of design and manufacture documentation
  • Partner with 3rd party contractors for R&D and manufacturing
  • Project managing the development of multiple new products
  • Supporting with on-site testing and deployment of new concepts


Desired attributes:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experienced at 3D CAD modelling
  • Proven ability to develop innovative product solutions
  • Mechanical design
  • Electrical engineering
  • Experience of designing for aquaculture and/or offshore environments
  • Knowledge of marine industry regulations/standards and CE marking

You will be based in our bright modern office at Dundee’s City Quay. It’s an office based role but occasional travel will be required and we are open to flexible working arrangements.
