Ace Aquatec rides the wave with three new charity partnerships
04 March 2021
We have announced three new chosen charities to support throughout 2021 and onwards.
The partnership will provide national and international charities The Ocean Cleanup, Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK), and Dundee Bairns with a combined total of £8,000 in donation payments.
The Ocean Cleanup is a Dutch non-profit organisation that aims to remove 90% of polluting plastics from our oceans by 2040. The funds supplied by Ace Aquatec will help scale up their work collecting plastics, being consumed by fish, in rivers and oceans.
At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the second-highest cause of deaths in the UK was neurodegenerative disease. Newer research has suggested that eating fish, such as Scottish salmon, can not only delay development of dementia-causing diseases such as Alzheimer’s but can also protect and repair parts of the brain. Donations to ARUK will help support the ongoing research like this to find a cure and support families living with dementia.
Local charity, Dundee Bairns, borne out of “Holiday Hunger” supports children living in poverty by providing regular hot and nutritious meals during school holidays in a safe environment.
Our CEO Nathan Pyne-Carter said “Now more than ever, the third sector is amongst the hardest being hit by the pandemic.
“Each of our chosen charities have a close connection to our team members and our business values. It’s so important that we continue supporting the initiatives that are making a real difference in our industry and communities.
“The partnerships benefit all parties through education, sustainability, research and new projects. We hope our support will help strengthen the resilience of these great organisations.”
