Ace Aquatec follows up Buckingham palace ceremony with Courier Business Award shortlisting

We have been shortlisted for 3 Courier Business Awards in the categories of Design & Innovation Business of the Year and Science & Technology Business of the Year. Nathan Pyne-Carter, our Managing Director has also been named a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year award.

This is the second year that we have been shortlisted for these awards. Last year, we were recognised for the innovation that our company brought to the Scottish aquaculture industry. This year, we are shortlisted for continuing innovation, which is aimed at animal welfare in aquaculture. The innovation projects include the Electric Fish, a non-acoustic deterrent that is designed to look like a dead salmon and serves as a predator solution for areas that have regulations in place against acoustic deterrents. Another innovation project within our product portfolio is the BioCam 3D; an under-water time-of-flight camera that captures fish biomass in real-time. This product will be available on the market later this year.

Our Head of Sales and Marketing, Mike, added: “It really is an honour to be shortlisted in three categories. We work with customers as far afield as New Zealand, Chile and the USA, but as a company, we are proud to be based in Dundee. It’s great to be considered alongside the many other businesses that we see thriving in the city right now.”

The Courier Business Awards are the first awards, for which we have been shortlisted, following our second Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation at the Buckingham Palace ceremony in London earlier this year.

The Courier Business Awards will take place on 26 October at the Apex Hotel in Dundee.
