Managing Director Nathan Pyne-Carter shortlisted for National Director of the Year Award
26 July 2019
After winning the Scottish Director of the Year Award earlier this year, our Managing Director Nathan Pyne-Carter has now been named a finalist for the Institute of Directors National Director of the Year Awards.
Nathan’s inclusion was confirmed earlier in July after winning the Scottish Director of the Year Award in the Innovation category in May. Nathan was also shortlisted for the regional Family Business Award and the Small-Medium Business Award.
The judges commented that Nathan “is a leader who understands and embraces innovation and this innovation has wider-reaching impacts than on the business – the environment, ethics and sustainability.”
Nathan added: “Obviously there are people who are leaders in their own sector who we were going up against, and it was a really nice surprise to find that what we’re doing in the aquaculture space is perceived well and to get this acknowledgement for the hard work that we’re doing in that space. It’s good to see that compared to other sectors we are also standing out for our innovation and technology development.”
The Scottish Director of the Year Award is our latest win after receiving our second Queen’s Award for the positive impact our Humane Stunner Universal (A-HSU®) is having on animal welfare across the global sea food industry. Earlier this year, we were also shortlisted for the Aquaculture Awards in the Animal Welfare category for our Electric Fish; a non-acoustic deterrent that is designed to look like a dead salmon and serves as a predator solution for areas that have regulations in place against acoustic deterrents.
The National Director of the Year Awards ceremony will be held on 18 October in London and will be hosted by television presenter Sir Trevor McDonald.
