Managing Director Nathan Pyne-Carter wins Scotland Director of the Year award
31 May 2019
Our Managing Director Nathan Pyne-Carter has been awarded the Institute of Directors annual award for Director of the Year in the category for Innovation. In addition to the Director of the Year – Innovation award, there were two other awards that Nathan was shortlisted for in the categories for Small-Medium Business and Family Business.
The judges commented that Nathan “is a leader who understands and embraces innovation and this innovation has wider-reaching impacts than on the business – the environment, ethics and sustainability.”
Nathan added: “Obviously there are people who are leaders in their own sector who we were going up against, and it was a really nice surprise to find that what we’re doing in the aquaculture space is perceived well and to get this acknowledgement for the hard work that we’re doing in that space. It’s good to see that compared to other sectors we are also standing out for our innovation and technology development.”
The Institute of Director’s Award is our latest win after receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation for the second year in a row. We were also shortlisted for the Aquaculture Awards in the Animal Welfare category for our Electric Fish; a non-acoustic deterrent that is designed to look like a dead salmon and serves as a predator solution for areas that have regulations in place against acoustic deterrents. In addition to the Animal Welfare Award, Nathan was also shortlisted for the People’s Choice award at this event.
